Welcome friends and clients to my beautiful new website!
This greeting will be replaced in a few days, but to start out, I very much want to acknowledge and thank (times a million!) my dear friend Birdie Jaworski who has worked patiently with me for many many moons now to develop this site. All the good stuff is hers. Any celebratory “Opening Day” compliments, flowers, chocolate, etc., will be delivered promptly to her lap(top) from mine as that’s where they assuredly belong for making me look so good for my internet debut.
The voice, however, is my own, as are any errors, omissions, typos, excessively-prolonged “coming soon” categories or stuff you think should be changed (about which I certainly hope you will tell me!) Flubs and goof-ups? Mine, all mine. In fact, by way of an “Introductory Special ” (Limited Time Only!) I am offering either a free hour of service, or a free batch of cookies to reporters of any of the above.
Look around. Poke into all the nooks and crannies. Refresh often to see some of the enlightening and amusing quotes that randomly come up about writing. And come back again in a few days to see the tweaks and upgrades that are being developed even as we speak (I’m told that Max has been furtively enrolled in a crash course on how to use an old-fashioned adding machine. I’m staying tuned for the outcome of that for sure!)
By next week I hope to have completed the Resources section, added a few more informative blog posts, maybe even come up with a more creative name for the blog, although I suspect the concept of “Free Advice” may be a powerful draw. Apparently there’s even a Newsletter feature, but at the moment I am completely clueless as to how to generate one of those, so don’t be holding your breath for regular issues of that!
If you just stopped by for the party, let’s get on with it! If you stopped by looking for writing assistance for local students and authors far and wide seeking advice on works in process, you’ve come to the right place too – it’s just maybe a little more festive and chaotic at the moment than will eventually be the norm.
Whatever your reason for being here, I look forward to hearing from you and I hope you come back often.
Excitedly yours,
Carroll (extremely proud owner of an actual-factual URL of my very own at long long last!)
